ABOUT ALWARD FAMILY FARM
We have a small herd of polled hereford cattle along the Saint John River in NewBrunswick near the village of meductic . Between me (Ben), my father (David) and mother (Rhonda), we run about a dozen purebred hereford females. With the small numbers, we are always striving to improve genetics in our herd by using top sires and keeping a strong maternal base in our herd. We strive to have strong depenable cow families that could hold there own in any herd. Due to a small land base, high end breeding stock are forsale at all times. We also consign some of our herefords to the Down East Hereford Sale annually. We work off the farm, where my father was first elected as a MLA in 1999 and became Premier in 2010. I work as a Plumber and Pipe Fitter. In the future we would like to increase our herd size, especially with beef prices rising and looking stronger again. My father has been breeding cattle for 30 years and through the years have competed strongly at some of the top shows. We are active in the 4H program as well, where I am beef leader now after completing 11 years in 4H. I have also been an active junior hereford member competing at 5 Bonanzas and other junior shows. . Herefords run deep in my family, where my great grandfather raised them and competed at livestock shows as far back as the 1950's.It has been passed down through the generations and will continue into the future. I appreciate you taking the time to look at our site and feel free to contact us at any tIme.
